When will my order ship?

All orders will ship in 2 to 5 business days from my home in Vermont, unless specified otherwise in product description.

I am not responsible for packages once they are dropped off for delivery. I have no control of USPS, UPS, OR FedEx.

Please check your orders tracking number for delivery information. Check with the carrier for delivery issues.

International Shipping Policy

We are thrilled to ship our premium yarns to makers in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand! Please review our destination-specific policies below regarding customs, duties, and local taxes.

Australia & New Zealand 🇦🇺 🇳🇿

Duties & Taxes: Orders under $1,000 AUD / $1,000 NZD (approximately $650+ USD) generally enter both countries completely duty-free and tax-free.

What to expect: Because most of our typical orders fall well below this threshold, you will not face any unexpected customs fees or delivery delays. Your yarn will arrive directly at your door via your local postal service (Australia Post or NZ Post).

Canada 🇨🇦

Duties: Our yarns are customs duty-free under the USMCA trade agreement.

Local Taxes: Because Canada has a very low tax-free threshold ($20 CAD for postal deliveries), packages valued over this amount will be subject to provincial sales tax (GST/HST, ranging from 5% to 15%) upon arrival.

How it works: To save you money on expensive courier brokerage fees, we ship all Canadian orders via USPS International / Canada Post. When your package arrives, Canada Post will collect your local provincial sales tax plus a standard flat handling fee (currently $9.95 CAD). These fees are determined by your local government and are the responsibility of the buyer.

How do I care for my yarn?

All finished items should be handwashed using a gently soap and in cold water separately, and layed flat to dry. Even though Superwash yarn is machine washable and dryable, to extend the use of your item it is recommended to handwash. If you choose to machine wash, use delicate cycle, COLD water, and a garment bag if possible.

All dye is fully exhausted when dyed, and yarn is cleaned until water is clear. However, there are a few factors that may result in minimal color bleeding when washed for the first time:

Different ph levels of water may cause some color bleeding, or
Using water that is 106 degrees Fahrenheit or warmer to wash, or
Some wool washes will also pull some set dyes. or
Colorways that are saturated may lead to come color bleeding the first few washings

When washing your item for the first time, please do so separately, especially colorways with saturated colors.

We are located in the Champlain Valley of Vermont.

Everything we create is done in a smoke free and pet free home.

What kind of packaging do you use?

Purl & Post is dedicated to being as eco-friendly as possible. We Reduce, Reuse, Recycle when and where possible.

We use recyclable and biodegradable/compostable shipping packages. We do not add any fancy packaging, ribbons, or other unnecessary inserts.
